Materials:

  • 1 skein of Amigurumi – Colors: 8001 (white), 8990 (black), 7569 (tobacco), and 8008 (quarry)
  • Safety eyes – 7mm
  • Crochet hook – 3mm
  • Sewing needle
  • Stuffing

Stitches Used:

  • Single Crochet = sc
  • Increase = inc.
  • Decrease = dec.
  • Chain = ch.

Head

Start with yarn black

  1. Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring.
  2. Round 2: 6 inc = 12 sc
  3. Round 3: 1 sc, 1 inc = 18 sc
  4. Round 4: 2 sc, 1 inc = 24 sc
  5. Round 5 and 6: 24 sc
  6. Round 7: 6 sc, 1 dec = 21 sc
  7. Round 8: 21 sc

Switch to yarn white

  1. Round 9 to 11: 21 sc

From here, change color every two rounds, alternating between black and white.

  1. Round 12: 2 sc, 1 inc = 30 sc

Place the safety eyes between rounds 10 and 11 with 4 stitches apart.

  1. Round 13: 30 sc
  2. Round 14: 30 sc
  3. Round 15: 4 sc, 1 inc = 36 sc
  4. Round 16 and 17: 36 sc
  5. Round 18 and 19: 36 sc
  6. Round 20: 36 sc
  7. Round 21: 4 sc, 1 dec = 30 sc
  8. Round 22: 3 sc, 1 dec = 24 sc
  9. Round 23: 2 sc, 1 dec = 18 sc
  10. Round 24: 18 sc

Add stuffing.

  1. Round 25: 1 sc, 1 dec = 12 sc
  2. Round 26: 6 dec = 6 sc

Finish with a false magic ring.

Body

Start with yarn black

  1. Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring.
  2. Round 2: 6 inc = 12 sc

From here, change color every two rounds, alternating between black and white.

  1. Round 3: 1 sc, 1 inc = 18 sc
  2. Round 4: 2 sc, 1 inc = 24 sc
  3. Round 5: 3 sc, 1 inc = 30 sc
  4. Round 6: 4 sc, 1 inc = 36 sc
  5. Round 7 to 15: 36 sc
  6. Round 16: 4 sc, 1 dec = 30 sc
  7. Round 17 to 19: 30 sc

  9. Round 21: 24 sc
  10. Round 22: 2 sc, 1 dec = 18 sc
  11. Round 23 to 25: 18 sc

Add stuffing.

Cut the yarn leaving a piece for sewing.

Leg (2x)

Start with yarn tobacco

  1. Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring.
  2. Round 2: 6 inc = 12 sc
  3. Round 3: 1 sc, 1 inc = 18 sc
  4. Round 4: 18 sc working in the back loop only.
  5. Round 5 and 6: 18 sc
  6. Round 7: 1 sc, 1 dec = 12 sc

Arm (2x)

Start with yarn tobacco

  1. Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring.
  2. Round 2: 6 inc = 12 sc
  3. Round 3: 1 sc, 1 inc = 18 sc
  4. Round 4: 18 sc working in the back loop only.
  5. Round 5 and 6: 18 sc
  6. Round 7: 1 sc, 1 dec = 12 sc
  7. Round 8 and 9: 12 sc in black yarn.
  8. Round 10 and 11: 12 sc in white yarn.
  9. Round 12 and 13: 12 sc in black yarn.
  10. Round 14 and 15: 12 sc in white yarn.
  11. Round 16 and 17: 12 sc in black yarn.

Add stuffing.

Ears (2x)

With yarn 8990

  1. Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring.
  2. Round 2: 6 sc
  3. Round 3: 1 sc, 1 inc = 9 sc
  4. Round 4: 9 sc
  5. Round 5: 1 sc, 1 inc = 12 sc
  6. Round 6: 3 sc, 1 inc = 15 sc
  7. Round 7: 1 inc = 22 sc

Fold the base to close the ear.

Tail

With yarn quarry

Make 12 ch and work sc starting from the second ch.
With yarn tobacco, cut about 10 cm and tie at the end of the tail.

Assembly

  • Position the head on the body and sew.
  • Position the arms on the second black line of the body near the neck and sew.
  • Position the legs on the third round below the body slightly forward and sew.
  • Position the ears between rounds 16 and 17 with 9 stitches apart and sew.
  • Cut several pieces of white and black yarn about 8 cm long and attach to form the mane on the head. After attaching, unravel the yarn.
  • Make two lines near the eyes, one below and another on the side of the eye with yarn 8008.
  • Embroider the nostrils of zebra Sofy in a V shape between rounds 3 and 4 with yarn 8001.
  • Attach the tail to the back of the body.
  • If desired, apply blush to the cheeks.
