Materials Needed:
- Crochet yarn in your chosen color
- Crochet hook suitable for the yarn
- Stuffing fiber
- Safety eyes (optional)
Instructions:
- Rnd 1: Make a magic ring, 6 sc into ring.
- Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (12 sc)
- Rnd 3: Sc in next st, 2 sc in next – rep around (18 sc)
- Rnd 4: Sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next – rep around (24 sc)
- Rnd 5: Sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next – rep around (30 sc)
- Rnd 6-13: Sc in each st around (30 sc per round)
- Rnd 14: Sc in next 3 sts, dec in next – rep around (24 sc)
- Rnd 15: Sc in each st around (24 sc)
- Rnd 16: Sc in next 2 sts, dec in next – rep around (18 sc)
- Rnd 17: Sc in each st around (18 sc)
Tentacles: (These will count as row 18)
- Starting where you left off on the body:
- Ch 19, sl st in 2nd chain from hook, 2 sl st, 4 sc, 5 hdc, 6 dc
- Skip 2 stitches on the body and sl st into 3rd sc. Repeat for a total of 6 tentacles. The tentacles will curl naturally.
Eyes:
- Attach safety eyes between rows 15 and 16, with a distance of 4 stitches between them.
Finalization:
- Rnd 19: Sc in next st, invdec in next – rep around (12 sc)
- Rnd 20: Invdec around (6 sc)
- Finish off and sew the hole closed. Hide the end inside the octopus.
